It’s the annual Colorfest Quilt Show & Sale hosted by the members of the Silverton Threads quilting guild. The group meets weekly in Silverton during the summer season, then puts on their annual show and sale held every year in September at the Silverton School Gymnasium, the only location large enough to house it. “Anyone who sews can attend the meetings,” said quilter Carolyn Wolf. “And quilters showing their work need not be members of the guild, although a lot of them are.” Many seasonal members work at home all winter, then finish their work in Silverton in time for the colorful show. The group meets weekly in Silverton during the summer season, then puts on their annual show and sale held this year September 12 and 13 (at the Silverton School Gymnasium, the only location large enough to house it). “Anyone who sews can attend the meetings,” said quilter Carolyn Wolf. “And quilters showing their work need not be members of the guild, although a lot of them are.” Many seasonal members work at home all winter, then finish their work in Silverton in time for the colorful show. Every year the show is a big success. “Attendance and sales are up every year!” noted the show's director. Although quilters submit work of various subjects (and sizes), each year the show has a theme, for 2010 it is “Holiday Celebration.”
